Why

Rhythm Japan is a leading retail, rental, and mountain experience provider based in Japan’s premier ski regions. They required a fresh digital experience to truly reflect their world-class on-the-ground service.

Rhythm’s on-the-ground experience in Niseko, Hakuba, and Furano is unmatched—they are quite literally the one-stop shop for all snow experiences in the region. This reputation is backed by their in-store service; snow enthusiasts, from beginners to seasoned pros, rate them for their unparalleled gear and local knowledge. Unfortunately, their digital experience wasn’t living up to the hype. A clunky, bloated website was causing user confusion and high drop-off rates, while their rental booking flow had fallen behind other local providers.

We reimagined their digital presence from the ground up. Starting with a series of strategic discovery workshops, we quickly got to grips with their complex internal systems, business goals, and brand aspirations. We completely overhauled the site’s information architecture, using data-driven insights to guide users on a seamless journey, beginning with richer content around Japan’s premier snow destinations.

This transformation was tied together by a completely revitalised UI. Offline, Rhythm pulls off a unique blend of premium quality and 90s grunge skater vibes. We took that thinking and translated it into the digital space. Think torn paper edges, scratched texture and quirky illustrations. By pairing these elements with Rhythm’s epic snowscape photography and motion, we’ve created a UI that is unique, exciting, and punchy.
